




				Advanced Timber Work for Trail Construction (3 Days) This workshop will build upon the material covered in the introductory course, with a focus on increasing overall technical competence. Hands on practice will be emphasized, as well as increasing students technical knowledge of the subject. The course will include the following components: Review of introductory material Placement of structures Climate and materials considerations Shaping materials Advanced construction of timber check steps/stairs Timber bridge design and construction Timber retaining wall design and construction Timber turnpike design and construction Supervising timber construction projects Length: 3 days, with 8 hours of instruction per day Participants: Maximum 10 Location: Client will provide area specific site/trail where work and instruction will be conducted. Materials: Client will provide all necessary construction tools and building supplies Pika Consulting will supply all instruction and educational materials. Price: $600 + Transportation fee (Dependant on location and scheduling)
